Our History

Founding story

When we first established Eryk, we never imagined we’d grow into a leader in the industrial market—providing specialised technical services, developing young talent, creating sustainable jobs, and offering remote IT services across the globe. So, how did we get here?

It all began in 2004 with the founding of BIC Electric Sp. z o.o. by Lucja Kalkstein and Jens-Christian Møller. Their vision was clear: to provide technical services for industrial projects. The initial focus was on offering competent electrical services to companies, particularly in Denmark’s building installation industry. With a commitment to quality and reliability, BIC Electric embarked on a journey that would eventually become Eryk.

Over the years, the company’s mission evolved to be a trusted partner for industrial customers, providing professional services with skilled technical specialists. This foundation has shaped what Eryk is today — an international technical service provider with a growing global presence, registered in Poland, Denmark, and recently Nigeria.

Milestones

2008 – 2015: Growth, adaptation and strategy

By 2008, our team had grown to over 50 employees specialised in performing electrical installations. Then came the global financial crisis in 2009, which was the first major challenge for the organisation and slowed down the company’s growth for the first time. This period prompted the need to diversify and expand geographically to markets outside of Scandinavia.

By 2018, our team had grown to over 100 employees, and we proudly completed several high-profile projects. We played a key role in the electrical installations for Hornsea One (which was the world’s largest offshore wind farm at the time) and in constructing the New Safe Confinement in Chernobyl, Ukraine. These technically challenging projects proved our ability to deliver complex, large-scale solutions in highly demanding environments.

Also, in 2018, BIC Electric became one of the first companies in Poland to have our CSR system certified according to ISO 26000 standards, recognising our commitment to corporate social responsibility.  Also, Jens-Christian Møller received the Danish Royal Export Medal, acknowledging the company’s contribution to Danish exports. These highlight our ability to operate with integrity while delivering quality services internationally.

2019-2020: Towards a new identity

In 2019, we welcomed our first trainees from Ghana and Nigeria, strengthening our commitment to international and cultural diversity. This laid the foundation for our Apprenticeship Program, ensuring a new generation of skilled professionals.

In August 2019 we hit a new high in our mobility – we operated in over 40 countries (a number which has continued to rise until today), which reflected our newly established global presence.

In February 2020, BIC Electric rebranded to Eryk. The new name and logo reflect our ambitions, loyalty, mobility, and commitment to quality – a blend of the best traits of Scandinavian and Pomeranian cultures. The new name provided a clearer identity and stronger market presence, making it easier for clients to recognise and trust our expertise.

2020: Through the pandemic

Like most organisations, Eryk was also heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic – we saw a slowdown in the order book and faced obstacles in our mobility. However, we managed to navigate safely and relatively quickly. Most importantly, we did not scale down, we kept our commitments, and we came out stronger on the other side.

2021 – 2024: Continued growth and new ventures

Eryk played a key role in a number of significant European projects within the fast-growing intralogistics, order fulfilment and pharma sectors, working for the biggest players on the market. As a technical service provider with an extensive portfolio of projects, we have established long-term business relationships with our customers, who value Eryk as a reliable and professional partner.

We also marked the first graduation in our Apprenticeship Program, followed by a series of later graduations that support our workforce sustainability for the future.

Launching Remote IT Services

In 2024, Eryk launched a new business area focused on providing remote IT services from Nigeria. By tapping into Nigeria’s growing talent pool, Eryk creates sustainable employment and delivers cost-effective IT support remotely. This initiative not only expanded Eryk’s service capabilities but also paved the way for new opportunities in bridging global markets through innovative IT solutions.

Generational change at Eryk

On July 1, 2024, Jens-Christian Møller, the former Group CEO, passed the leadership of Eryk to the next generation. Maj Winther Møller became CEO of Eryk A/S, and Cezary Miller took on the role of CEO for Eryk Sp. z o.o. This leadership transition marks a significant moment in our company’s history, setting the stage for continued growth under new guidance.

Looking ahead

Since 2004, Eryk has remained guided by principles of quality and commitment to our customers. Today, we have a diverse service portfolio and a broad international reach focusing on four key sectors: Industry & Automation, Building Installations, Energy & Renewables, and IT Services.

As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to delivering technical services that meet the demands of our customers worldwide while embracing new opportunities and challenges in the evolving industrial landscape.
